We wanted to create a family home that borrows warmth from its owners and their existing c.1900 cottage by proposing a timber volume above that’s both conversational and deferential. By opening the front room whilst maintaining its original gable, we have allowed this element to shine and serve as a key visual anchor for the elevation and elements beyond.
